Limpopo Department of Health pushing the boundaries with breastfeeding in the workplace

Led by the Limpopo MEC of Health, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, and the very passionate breastfeeding ambassador and nutrition managerof the department, Pogisho Daddy Mathhews, Limpopo opened the doors of its very first government workplace breastfeeding and expressing room on the 1st August 2018 in celebration of World Breastfeeding Week. The Albertina Sisulu Breastfeeding Room is a picture straight from a baby magazine or book that so many moms-to-be and new moms dream of, relaxing whilst nursing and bonding with your little bundle of joy. The beautiful breastfeeding friendly room was made possible through funding from the South African Breastmilk Reserve (breastmilk bank). The golden thread throughout the launch was the irrefutable multitude of benefits of breastfeeding and the importance of a supportive environment to help moms sustain breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is life! Breastfeeding is free! Breastfeeding is safe! Support moms to breastfeed!
